I have just got a new nec 2500. Am using winoncd 5.05 with unidriver 1.18
I find that winoncd does not recognise the drive or allow any burning at all of any speed let alone 8x

does anyone know of or have an update that will allow recognition and use of the new 8x drives

I dont want to have to use nero (only does 4x)

thanks for info

In the US, the Fuji ones (TY) that are labled 4X write perfectly at 8X, other than that, I have not personally even seen any in local stores marked 8X.

thanks for info guys; I had to manually assign a driver for teh drive as it is not recognised automatically. I dont know wether the restriction on writing at 4x only was because I was not using; the right driver or the right media. I actually suspect the former as you can assign the write speed without media in on this software.

I doubt if I will bother with expensive media anyway

I was wondering if anyone had a driver update?, I was not very hopefull as they have gone on to winoncd6 which is a completley different beast to the very easy and usefull 5.

thanks for the help
