There's a small mistake on the first page where the specifications table mentions 5x DVD-RAM write support, although the drive doesn't even support writing to DVD-RAM media.

One note: Appearently, Plextor is using different scan commands in that drive, the reason being to annoy me. PxScan does NOT yet work with the PX-755

I know that.

PlexTools *always* need an update for each new drive since it uses blacklisting (like PX-708A2 and PX-714) and white listing (PX-712, 716, now 755) for Q-Check functions. PlexTools would have required an update even if the scan commands were the same.

What I wanted to say is that there is no reasonable reason why the commands should have changed, they simply seem to have. The only explanation that seems logical to be is that Plextor does not tolerate that people use pxlinux, qpxtool or pxscan with the px-755.

This seems to be a rather short review ... I miss the ABEX CD Error Correction testing ...

is there going to be in the full review of the PX-755
any extensive explanations about the TA [Time Analyser] test ?
1°) the reliability of the results from one performance to an other
2°) does it realy give an indication on how a burned DVD video is close to the specifications
in order to be read properly (smoothly) in a standalone DVD player ?

I assume you are asking if TA tests are useful or not, my point of view is that give an overview of the quality, of course we have to test if this a real useful or not test...

There is an error on the "DVD Writing Quality Page 2" ... Datawrite 8x DVD+R @ 8x shows a CMCMAG AE1 scan which is 8x -R media ... ;-)
