i have a problem years ago i bought a slim DVD-RAM drive Matshita DVD-RAM UJ811 to my toshiba notebook. at that time i used WinMe & i had no problem installing the driver from the install CD (of B.H.A.) that i got with the drive. so i used it many times with no problem. some months ago i decided to upgrade to Win XP Media Center. everything went OK except the DVD-RAM driver. of course there was an XP-compatible DVD-RAM driver on the original install CD and of course i installed it. and almost all went OK BUT it hasn't been recognized by the system. i tried to update the driver directly in the device manager but it couldn't find the file it needed. i figured out that there's no *.inf file for this XP-driver installed, not even on the install CD. the driver file (meiudf.sys) is on its right place but the win cannot recognize it and obstinately uses its own dumb driver instead. i can read DVDs and CDs but i cant use DVD-RAM and can"t write anything either. can someone of you help me, how to find an *.inf file for this? or is there a hidden way in WinXP to do it without an *.inf file?? thanks.
