Landmark Graphics, a wholly-owned business unit of the USA's Halliburton Company, has been awarded 'Best Company In Information Technology Implementation', in the 2005 'Excellence In Energy' awards held in Doha this week. 'Landmark's award recognises its commitment to providing customers with technology that assists them in making more accurate reserve estimations for optimisation of production and recovery,' said Eileen Michael, Publisher, Reflex Publishing Middle East FZE, which organises the awards through its Pipeline Magazine. 'Working with Graphics SGI and Intel, Landmark Graphics is creating the world's fastest and largest advanced visualisation computer system in oil and gas exploration.' Landmark's award was one of 10 honours presented to oil and gas industry companies and personalities at the Excellence In Energy awards - the fifth in the annual series and the first to be staged in Qatar. The honours follow an industry poll run via an entry form in Pipeline Magazine, the Pan Arab world's foremost monthly publication for the energy industry. The awards presentation, held on the lawns of the Doha Golf Club, was staged under the patronage of His Excellency Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Qatar's Oil Minister. 'This award triggers us to always provide the best technologies,' said Nigel Benthall, ME Regional Manager, Landmark Graphics, 'the oil and gas is a vital industry and we feel responsible to give our best to make it flourish'.
