I was browsing through my local Circuit City store for some software and came across a box called "Acid". It looked to be some type of mixing software for creating your own music. Is anyone familiar with this product, and is it any good? I am toying with the idea of doing some digital recordings in my spare time...Thanks.

Personally, I have seen many versions of it in the past, it is usually a cheap piece of software bundled with recorders, I would stay away from it on a personal basis.

Okay. A co-worker suggested something called "Cakewalk". I will have to study up on this stuff. Thanks again.

Must be a LITE version at that price.

I saw a demo of "Circle Elements" - there are a whole host of "cut & shut" programs for doing loops etc.

Is "Koan" still going?

http://www.sseyo.com/sseyoindex.html - yes - Generative music - of both types - looping, and rule based synthesis
