About 2 and a half years i got a COMPAQ Presario with a DVD reader and a PHILIPS CDR drive. every was good until the CDR drive started freezing my computer. I tried every thing but nothing worked. so i just unplugged it fogot about. Recentley i got a I CAN FIX ANYTHING and i found that the now doesnt even open.
IF I CAN FIX THIS HOW?

OS: Windows ME
Motherboard: Athlon
Processer: 1Gz
RAM: 128

There is usually a small hole in the front cover of drives. You can plug in a thin, stiff piece of metal for opening the front door.

This might not solve the problem though. It's for emergency reasons, where you have forgoten a disc inside a drive.

Well the CDR drive doesnt have a little hole to do quick eject.
I looked it over again and it looks like when you hit the eject button the command gets to a point and just stops and then freezes the computer.

It seems a mechanical problem. Perhaps you can solve it if you opened the door and/or the covers of the drive. Normally, the drive should have a hole somewhere in the front cover.
