200 TDK PrintOn DVD-R for $40 - Quality?? - 8/6/2005 1:02:06 PM

I just purchased 200 TDK Print On DVD-R's from costco for $40. I have been using Sony DVD-R 50DMR47LS3 for about 1 year now & have probably had a 1% failure rate if that. The Sonys however have increased in price to the point that its too expensive, running from $20 for 50 when I bought them to $40 at both frys and best buy.
Now at Costco they are selling what i mentioned above. Im not interested in printing on them only burning. I tried researching on them, but nothing is available online. The model number is DVD-R47WDC100TP. I opened the pack to run a test but cannot find any software online to test the darn media and now I have an opend pack. What are your thoughts on the quality of these, as the price is pretty ridiculous????

What is the media code on the media?

No more double posting.....
Im not sure what you mean by media code, but it is a TDK DVD-R 4.7 8X Print On
Some numbers on the packaging include DVD-R47WDC100TP and below that in bold is 876846, otherwise the disks themselves are completely blank.
Actually I just burned one with nero and it works in my cheap cyberhome dvd player but not in our toshiba vcr/dvd combo. It seems that the cheaper the dvd player one gets, the better. I hope this helps...

To get the media code, you'll need a program such as DVDIdentifier or NeroInfoTool.

I downloaded DVD ID and this is what I got for the code:
I also went to best buy and purchased another 50 DVD-Rs by Memorex. However this has never happened, but they dont burn at all, the dvd drive spits them out. I will post the info for them below as well as the error message.
