I just installed a lite-on 52X I had been using a HP 2X and using some cheep media. And on the 2X the CDRs had been working fine but now with the new burner(52X) the CDRs are developing swirls and blotches and becoming unreadable in a day or two. Has anyone experienced this and why is it happening.

What operating system are you using? Is DMA enabled on your new drive? Also, there is an ENTIRE subject on Kypermedia that users have been having ALOT of problems with.

I am running XP pro. The thing is that the CDs (which are value disc brand) worked fine with the old burner. It looks like its delaminating inside the disc. could the laser be more powerful than my old burner and causing this to happen?
