Opera is user-friendly, secure, and exceptionally fast. The browser is small, yet full-featured and functions well on systems with limited resources. Opera supports all common Web standards and implements them according to the official recommendations.

Hi cal 02...

well...hard to answer......i did a little research on that and found out the following....

8.01 Techical preview was already released on 6th of May 2005, so it was already a time to release final version...

Actually I am not 100% sure....but I deeply  believe its the final version....because...if you just look at download link for Linux above...you may see the following...ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux/801/final/en/i386/opera-8.01-20050602.1-static-qt.i386-en.tar.gz....have you noticed that "FINAL" folder? Thats what makes me even more certain that its the final (as stable as possible) version (non-beta one)...

But if you still have any doubts....maybe wait for few more days until they finally update their changelog page...so you could be 110% sure which version this is. Ok?

I hope I helped you at least in some way...but if you need some other questions answered...just reply...and I'll see what i can do.

Have a nice day everybody!

Well, I'll tell you this if it's NOT then it ought to be because it certainly works 100% better than the 8.0 version!!! And twice as stable too.

I would suggest the free FireFox instead.
Opera's inplanted ads in the free version is a host of a lot of browsing anomalies...

If you want to get ride of the Opera Ads use this little app and it will be no bother at all, and it also works on KAZAA and DAP! MyPopUpKiller
