I just bought 10 CDRs with the brand name "Lynic" from TIME computers for UKP 3.99.

All burned ok, all data verified ok, all subsequently failed to read (even in the burner) and I got a new error "disk may need cleaning" !!

Prodisc media is very high quality!!!! It must just be an incompatibility with your drive -- what model is it?

My burner is the Lite-on 12102B and doesn't normally give any trouble with anything!

I did load the disk nearly up to capacity and haven't tried a second one. Maybe I should!

I was pleased to find this thread as I am having a problem with some
"Intenso" brand ReWritables I have just purchased. According to
CDR Identifier they are made by Prodisc:-

ATIP: 97m 32s 11f

My burner is the Lite-on 24102B.

I have so far tried four discs and they have all been very unreliable. Nero shows a
successful burn every time but most times when opening a window there are no files
shown on the disc, windows recognises there is a disc in the drive but shows it as
empty, also the "Medium Info" tool in Nero shows an empty disc.
As I said, most times there is no data shown on the disc but every now and again
the files I have burnt are there as they should be, probably about one in three
attempts has ended up with data actually being burnt onto the disc.

So I wonder, is there an incompatibility with Prodisc media and Lite-on burners?,
or have I bought a load of rubbish?.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have no problems with my LiteOn 24x and the CDR media.

I have not tried any CDRWs though, so I can't help you unfortunately.

My 12102B is quite media picky, it doesn't like some Ritek media. And given the fact that there has been no fw update I am suspicious of it's media compatibility. Other LiteOns don't suffer from the same flaw.

I use a Lite-on 12102B also.

I've had no trouble with the higher quality media as recommended elsewhere in this forum.

I'm trying to find reliable media at a good price in the shops around me. If Prodisk are considered high quality then maybe it is a compatibility issue.
