I can't say anything regarding that specific DVD recorder since I'm a newbie on the DVD recorders.  I can say I've bought a few hundred thousand dollars worth of computer equipment over the years and this is just my opinion financially.   If you are going to get a DVD burner - will you use it at least once a month or a total of 10 times?  If so, you should consider buying whatever people recommend here if it is say $60 vs $40 since if you amortize it over a year of use you're only paying about $2 more per month for it.  While you may only keep it a year or two - will $20 matter much?

If you look, at my post/question and others I've seen some pretty good stuff on the Benq 1620(which I didn't know squat about till someone responded to my post and I did some googling).  This goes for about $50 US 1620 pro.   I'm just waiting to see if they release at 1640 in the US - from what I heard it requires a little bios upgrading but it should be a better choice for me than the 1620 should it become available soon.

This is only DVD+R/RW burner if I am correct. Also its an old model.

Since the new models are cheap better go for such a solution. NEC 3520, BenQ 1620, Pioneer 109 etc are some of the good burners at this moment.
