If i burn a vcd file onto a dvd-r will it work on my dvd player? If not what do i need to do and what program do i need?

You can do using Ulead and a program converting VCD's to MPG files.

I bet there are more methods, and I hope easier and faster..

My Apex DVD palyer will play the .dat files! All I have to do is use NERO to burn all the .dat files to a DVD and then stick it into the DVD player! Works pretty nice, but to be honest, now that I have done some real DVD backups I normally don't mess with SVCDs or VCDs anymore. DVD media is cheap enough now. I get it for less than $1 a disc now........

But putting more than 1 VCD onto a DVD can make playback a dream, there is not getting up from the chair to change CD 1/2 way through and its actually cheaper to burn a few VCD's to a DVDR than to CDR's anyway.
