WinXP SP2, BenQ 1620 B7U9, Nero 6.6

Audio CD does not end properly. It will loop at the very end (last 5-10 seconds of the audio).

Tried to burn with Nero and Windows Media Player, same result.

Tried B7U9 and B7T9, same result

Tried with and without ASPI layer, same result

I am now wondering it this is a hardware problem.

Any suggestion?

Hard Disc defragged? Page file set to? Clear your temp directory?

How much RAM and let's hear your system specs?!!?

Are you trying to overburn?

Also try a different brand of media or post what you are using. I have had success with Verbatim and Fuji (TY) though most of my audio is pushed through a Plextor PX-716A. I have had nothing but success with BenQ though....

MP3 source. Virus Scan realtime protection off.

Hard Disc defragged recently. plenty of free space.

Athlon XP 1600, 1GB RAM

No overburn, even tried 40 min audio CD.

3 different brands of media tried, Philips, TDK, Verbatim.

Burned several DVD and data CD. All work fine. The only problem I had is with audio CD.

nForce#, Via, or what chipset? Have you tried the latest chipset driver set or updated your mainboard bios? Is DMA turned on for your IDE controller? What processes are running that may be conflicting? Uninstall any packet writing software (i.e. InCD, DirectCD, etc.)... are you multitasking during the burn?

ECS board with SIS chipset, latest bios and driver set. DMA on. Nothing but Nero running. Do have InCD installed. It's from ahead as well. Will it interfere with Nero for audio CD only?

Packet writing is garbage. It causes nothing but problems. Avoid it at all costs. Not sure it will fix your issue, but it can't hurt to get away from it. I tried it years ago and lost data because of it. In addition, had strange issues while burning CD-R's (pre DVD). Removing it fixed all my problems.

Personally, not a big fan of SiS chipsets, but see if they have some updated drivers for your system.

Now I think I found a cure but would like to understand the exact difference.

When an audio CD is burned with Track-At-Once, it plays fine in the car cd player. In this mode, there is no CD Text support.

When an audio CD is burned with Disc-At-Once, it plays fine until the very end. The CD will loop for the last 5 to 10 seconds and never ends.

The CD is finalized.

Is this because the car cd player is too old? Or did I mess up sth else?

Seems odd. How does the disc play on another deck or through the PC?

What kind of car deck is it? I doubt you are doing anything wrong. How many tracks are on the disc?
