Well, I've come across a MAJOR oddity today! This Memorex media is FULL of inconsistancies that make me wonder if it is possibly counterfeit??? The media comes in a full sized Jewel case, with two inserts (front and back) shrinkwrapped closed. The front insert is a dark shade of blue, and claims the media is a 48x certified multispeed CD-R. The back insert is a dark shade of purple (quite different from the front) and it claims the media is compatible with 1x, 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x, and 16x. The media itself was unbranded...which I've NEVER seen from a memorex disc before! and it *looked* at first glance to be Princo Media, however the ATIP says LeadData. MInfo 1.4 reports: LITE-ON LTR-48125W Drive Type = CD-RW Disc Type = CDR Lead In = 97:26:54 Lead Out = 79:59:74 Nominal = 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f/LBA:359849) Manufacturer = Lead Data Inc. Cur. Speed = Wrt(32X),Rd(12X) Notice the speed is NOT 48x... The Serial Numbers are: "Holographic" outer hub: M5-ADU Inner Hub: M21060802Y so what are people's opinions? should I contact memorex and ask if this stuff's legitimat?
