X700 TSOP to chase Geforce 6600 vanilla...

ATI made a commitment to hunt and chase down Nvidia's 6600 vanilla series of cards and it has a plan how to do just that.


It will introduce a card based on X700 core using TSOP memory, ending up with a smaller price and resulting in faster performance compared to Nvidia's offering.

The card should end up with a street price of $105 but we don’t know the UK or European price for the card, and the 6600 vanilla should cost $109.

Performance wise, X700 TSOP will score 5363 in 3Dmark03 while 6600 vanilla can manage to score 5041, in 3dmark05 X700 scores 2442 while the 6600 can score 1905. We saw some game scores and it turns out that X700 is a good performer even for games.

ATI is really committed to regain its channel market share and it really wants to put some extra pressure on 6600 generation of cards seeing them as the only real competitor.
