silly question, but though id better check...

iv been burning 8x disks @ 4x, i figured it wouldnt do the quality any harm...are there any reasons why i shouldnt do this?

Alot of play goes into this question. Personally I would burn one at 4X and one at 8X, and I would do some PI/PO scans, along with a transfer rate scan on each, and they "you" can make a logical decision.

I have the Plex 716A, and I have found that it burns "best" at full 16X speed, there is no difference in the writes between 8X and 16X with it.

So, do a little testing, and let yourself be the judge!
