KenW -> DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/12/2004 7:57:57 PM)

This week BenQ asked NicW to add high speed scanning to DVDInfoPro for their new firmwares. They stated DVDIndfoPro was the premier tool of its kind and wanted it showing off the scanning capability of their products. A new update will be posted this coming weekend all being well. Some drives may need new fw to use faster scanning.

Support for 1600 series burners is unclear at this time, more info as its discovered

Anyone interested in beta testing this new version on BenQ 800 or 822, and maybe 830 please email nicw@bigpond.net.au , thank you for your help.

good news ken, hopefully we can test soon!

To bad about the B7L9 not having fast scanning, but then it also does not seem to have DL 4x burn that Emperor was talking about either. We can hope that a newer fw will release soon maybe called B7M9.

or b719

KenW -> RE: DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/13/2004 2:21:23 PM)

B7I9 makes no sense as its before J or K no it will be more like M or N

S33K3R -> RE: DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/13/2004 2:25:18 PM)

true but I was looking at other thread and picture it looks like an I or 1 or l

KenW -> RE: DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/13/2004 2:30:30 PM)

B7L9 or B7l9 a small L looks like I or 1 kind of. No there is something odd here, but nic made it clear in post on cd freaks dvdinfo3.30 post that high speed scanning will not work on L fw.

That I expected. Firmwares out there already are not enabled for this regardless of their version. This should change soon I hope, watch this space.

I don't have further info about which firmware should support higher reading speeds for PI/PO, as it looks maybe next release...

KenW -> RE: DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/14/2004 9:31:13 PM)

As promised NicW has again made more changes to the 1620 scanning at high speed this scan is on DVDinfopro 3.31 beta as you see the speed has been corrected and also the data displays, note this media was burned on a liteon 1633 and scanned on benQ 1620 with the high speed scan enabled fw.

KenW as far i heard you need at least B7M9 to support higher reading speeds for DW1620A [8|]

KenW -> RE: DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/15/2004 2:54:11 AM)

nicW has beta L fw moded to use high speed scans sent to him by BenQ for his testing, thats where that scan came from NicW asked me post it. erik nero speed3 has said benQ will release B7M9 next week, if true the dvdinfo 3.31 will be ready for it [:)]

emperor -> RE: DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/15/2004 3:04:59 AM)

kenw i heard, a beta B7M9 should arrive at my mailbox anytime now[:)]

KenW -> RE: DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/15/2004 3:08:09 AM)

your so lucky, i will be interested in how it works, that is if its not under NDA you know. I do know from nicW that this vc codes for scanning are very complicated and he is still working on DL scan problem with his L beta. I'm thinking nic and erik will have newer updates for dvdinfo and speed3 soon as its not over yet

emperor -> RE: DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/15/2004 3:10:49 AM)

I think also DW822A has problems with DL scans, at least with CDSpeed 3.40, showed 0.2% Jitter[8|][&:]

KenW -> RE: DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/15/2004 3:15:26 AM)

Nic has not told me a lot even though im one of his beta tests for dvdinfo as scanning on 1620 is still pretty NDA , I cant get fw from him or really any large details, but he did tell me his main problem seems to be that the benQ control command codes are very messy to setup to work, and there seems to be tracking problem with benQ on scan data that makes its halt and then start again , or as someone testing dvdinfo 3.30 with 822 said it hangs at about 1-10% on SL media for long time

emperor -> RE: DVDInfoPro 3.30 now supporting BenQ High speed scanning (10/15/2004 3:44:39 AM)

i seem to agree with nicw and other user comments...
