I got about 150 of these Pioneer CDM-J74 cdr's and ive succesfully burned about 2 but all others give me a power calibration failure. These discs are blue and seem to be manufactured by Pioneer. Anyone else have experience with this media? Im running a TDK (plextor rebadge) 16x10x40.

As a matter of fact i 've burned some pionneer media in the past and i avoid them as well as the TDK ones because the fail to calibrate in all drives.
The TDK's eg do not calibrate in TEACs 56

Perhaps a BIOS update will solve the problem.

Prefer CDR's made from Taiyo Yuden, Ricoh, Sony, Mitsui, Mitsubishi Chemicals or Prodisc, Plasmon Media for cheap ones.
Avoid CDR's made form CMC Media, Multi Machinery, Ritek, Auva, and CD's that "Disk ID is not allowed"
