chugbug -> Help with a "burning" issue... (11/24/2007 5:01:20 PM)

Hello All, I have a Pacific Digial Mach 52 CDRW (shows in hardware list as CDWRITER IDE5224). For some reason, a few months ago, I started having problems burning disks with it. Today, I updated the firmware, then tried to burn a test disk. Using NERO 6, I burned a disk with 362MB of files/folders. According to the log, the burn was sucessful, but the verification found errors. I checked the burned disk, and it opens fine, has the same amount of data/files/folders as it should, and I can read the disk. Hoping it was a fluke, I burned another, but the same thing happened. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Listed below is the log from the last burn. Also, Now a more pressing issue... I went into my Device Manager for the exact name that the CDRW disk is shown, and I noticed that now my DVD burner is "X" out and disabled. I attempted to enable it, but Windows says it can't. I KNOW I upgraded the firmware to the correct drive (I made a copy of the window after it was finished, and it shows the correct drive was selected). So now, it appears I have two problems! I wasn't too concerned about the issue with the CDRW, since it seemed to have burned the data, plus I had my DVD burner to use instead. But now that I can't access my DVD drive, I need to figure out what happened to it. Can anyone give me some recommendations to my problems 1) DVD drive not being able to be enabled, 2) why my CDRW burns appear to be not burrning exactly as it should. Thanks...Chugbug ------------------------------------------------------------------------- NERO 6 Burn Log: John E.
