ZXR750 -> problem with transferrate (2/29/2004 5:54:18 PM)

hi people,
i've got a problem with my 2 yamaha burners

hard & software:
1x yamaha 3200S
1x yamaha F1S
adaptec 29160
winXP pro
nero 6 ultra
latest aspi's

i just recently switched from win2k to winXP and am having the following problem:

when i run nero speedtest both yamaha scsi burners don't go over 10x speed.

i had no problems with win2k and same config.

You might have to configure correctly the SCSI card. For example DMA and so on.

Also since you are now using WinXP, you said you have the "latest" ASPI drivers... Ensure that they are not abover version 4.60, as there is a stability problem in WinXP with versions above 4.60.

scsi card is config right, but aspi's might be the problem. i downloaded the aspi's from adaptec 3 weeks ago, version 4.71.2. thx for the info. any idea where i can get the aspi vers. 4.6?

You need to make sure you have the latest drivers and firmware for your 29160 card. Yamaha has had problems with older firmware and drivers on those cards. You can also make sure the transfer rate is set to 10 mb or lower on there ID's in the bios.

Also,

you can download Laffin's ASPI fix to return to the more stable 4.60 HERE
