SithTracy -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (12/24/2005 11:37:19 AM)

Contacted customer support with my nero serial number and asked for it.  Still using my v6.xx serial number in version 7... works fine.

Ask for a LAME MP3 Encoder license...

snakechopper -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (12/27/2005 7:03:02 PM)

I downloaded the 2.0.4.7 mp3PRO.dll and the problem did not go away.  I am going to try Nero 7.0.1.4b.  If that doesn't work, it's back to nero 6.x.

I had the same problem.

I have a 2500xp OCed to 2300, 1.5gb of RAM, 9800xt, WinXP Pro SP2
Samsung CDRW/DVD Combo 52x24x52, Lite-On DVD writer 48x24x52x16

Both drives did the same thing.

I replaced the driver like MP3Mogul suggested, works fine now.  Tested with both drives and did 2 different compilations; works great!

I suggest that you all try the 2.0.0.10 version vs the 2.0.4.7.

Ceed19 -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (1/21/2006 6:08:32 PM)

I had the same problem. downloaded the dll file and it fixed it

RaptorGTR -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (2/10/2006 3:38:36 PM)

Hi!  The link to the dll files doesn't seem to work anymore.  Can someone post the zip file again?  Thanks!

Lardy -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (2/13/2006 6:50:26 AM)

Hi All,

I just wanted to let you know that the Nero 7.0.5.4 update doesn't update the mp3PRO.dll file.  It is still version 2.0.5.1.

MZPRESTO -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (2/21/2006 1:28:48 PM)

I have a AN8 ultra motherboard, 7.1 channel sound card,
athalon 3700 processor, 1 gig ram, 250 gig sata harddrive,
nvidia 6600 graphics card.

I have burned a few cd's and they skip in some players. I even
burned an album & some of the mp3s played fine on my system,
but burnt to the CD as blank tracks?? For an example I burned
Led Zepellin III every track burned except track 5 & it took
ages to burn normally will burn in about 5 mins. this time took
15 mins. Track 5 played fine on my harddrive as mp3 in winamp &
wmp though. I have d/l mp3pro.dll fix & have yet to try it. i have a pioneer
16x DVD/32x CD writer & ave the very latest firmware.

stualoo -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (3/7/2006 7:24:56 PM)

I found this thread using Google when I was getting the annoying skipping. Just thought I'd post my findings on the DLL issue (I'm sure this has all probably already been said but...[;)])...

Nero 6.6.0.14 - mp3pro.dll version 2.0.4.0 - WORKS
Nero 6.6.0.16 - mp3pro.dll version 2.0.4.7 - SKIPS
Nero 6.6.1.4 - mp3pro.dll version 2.0.4.8 - SKIPS
Nero 7.0.1.4b and 7.0.5.4 - mp3pro.dll version 2.0.5.1 - SKIPS

Can't say I noticed the problems when I used those versions of Nero 6, but those DLL's skip on those 2 late versions when used on Nero 7. 6.6.0.14 seems fine however.

Anyway, here are the ones that worked for me for anyone wanting to try:

shoota -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (3/7/2006 7:47:37 PM)

Sadly, the release of 3/6/2006 of 7.0.8.4 does not fix this problem and has mp3pro.dll 2.0.5.1, which contains the skipping error.

josephine -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (3/22/2006 3:49:13 AM)

i was happy to find this thread today and signed up to report that i to have(had) this same problem. i was wondering whether nero had addressed this issue yet?

i was literally ready to take my burner back to the shop. then it occurred to me finally today to look on the net about the problem to see whether it could be software related as i had only got nero 7 ultra a few months ago after a clean install on my pc.

after reading this thread i ended up using mp3PRO.dll version 2.0.1.1 from my nero 6 express and it worked a treat...no skipping cd.

i would like to note that i didn't find any particular consistency to where the skips occured. for one artist the skips would always appear in the same places but then a different artist would have skips somewhere else. on nero 5 and nero 6 i had never had any problems, so originally assumed my fairly new dvd burner was at fault though i knew my dvd data divx files were playing fine, as was a couple of cd's i made using .wav files. (yes it took me awhile but when you only burn occasionally it takes a day off with nothing else to do to really think about it heh)

i have windows xp sp2
amd athlon 1.7G
512 ram
dvd burner is an LG dvdram
also have pioneer dvd reader
2 hard drives: 60seagate and 80 western digital
nvidia geforce 2 mx
netgear fa311 ethernet card (this had driver issues after my install with xp, fixed now)

apart from that its still fairly fresh install, not too many programs and no other conflicting issues of any kind.

cheers

Hmmm, I'll be on the look out for this mp3PRO.dll fault when I install the Nero 7 Ultra Edition suite on my systems this coming week...

I tested Nero 7 Ultra Edition v7.0.8.2 (latest), and indeed my "mp3PRO.dll v2.0.5.1" produces CD-DA with skips at exactly the same positions (on multiple copies), whilst using "mp3PRO.dll v2.0.4.4" from Nero 6 works fine - when decoding MP3's in Nero's browser to be written to audio CD.

What is the go? I will contact Nero for an answer soon... How can this file (mp3PRO.dll) be constantly distributed that is causing such a big problem, and not fixed in like 3 revisions already? This is ludacrous. I expect more from a company such as Nero. I should not have to use old versions of .dll files just to have "working" CD-DA's! [:@] [&:] [:'(] [>:]

Perhaps that is the difference, though I usually encode my MP3's outside of Nero.

Problem is in the decoding, not encoding of MP3's within Nero 7.

MP3Mogul -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (3/27/2006 5:32:06 PM)

Okay, for people having problems with Nero 7 skipping because of what "some" have called a problem with the MP3Pro decoder (I cannot duplicate any problem with it) here is how you can set LAME to be the default decoder when converting MP3's to audio prior to burning with Nero 7:

1.  Open Nero Burning ROM.  Now select FILE, then OPTIONS.

2.  Select AUDIO, then click the OPTIONS box below it.

3.  You should now see three tabs, DECODERS, ENCODERS, and CONVERTORS.  Make sure you are on the DECODERS tab.

4.  Scroll to the LAME decoder (or your CHOICE of decoder), and highlight this.  Now look at the MOVE UP box, and click it until your choice is at the TOP.  Now CLOSE...

5.  This is the default decoder Nero will use, depending on the file type.  If the filetype is MP3 and you have selected LAME, this is the encoder it will use.

I have tried to duplicate the skipping sound that many have mentioned, and I have reported this to Nero previously, and I cannot, nor can Nero's lab duplicate any issue with the MP3Pro dll file.

I hope this helps out!
