Ladyhawk -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (10/16/2006 9:21:46 PM)

Thanks, Logan!  I had an older version (2.0.0.2) and version 2.0.4.8 wasn't working properly.  It seems like everything's fine now. :)

dinno -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (11/15/2006 12:26:33 PM)

I can really confirm the problem with Nero 7

TinsleyC -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (11/23/2006 11:09:29 PM)

For what it's worth, I had the exact same skip problem as reported here when burning CD's from MP3's, and replacing my MP3PRO.DLL with an older one DID fix the problem.

Thanks to those who suggested it, I've been fighting this for months.

pcdoctor -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (12/5/2006 8:25:52 PM)

100% of the time I'm burning DVDs.  I started burning mp3s to audio cds for christmas.
I noticed the skipping and wondered if I was burning at too high a speed.
8x is the lowest that Nero goes for me.
After copying mp3PRO_v6_Plugins.zip, the skipping stopped.
I thought I was going to have to resort to using Sonic record now.
Thx so much for making a girl happy!

I'm using Nero Express 7 by the way.
Version 7.2.0.3 to be exact.

pcdoctor -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (12/6/2006 3:57:54 AM)

Thx so much GSXR!
Hope you have a Merry Xmas, Kwanza, Hanakkuh (SP?), etc.

I had the same problem (skips with 7.0.5.4). I tried swapping the original mp3PRO.dll file (v2.0.5.1) with older version 2.0.4.7, which had worked for some people. This didn't work for me... I rebooted before trying another burn, and it still skipped. I tried Googling an older version of that dll, but eventually gave up - seems NOBODY wants to post these, sheesh! [:(]

So, I dug out my old Nero v6 installer, and picked out the entire Audio Plugins file. I only copied over the four files below. Rebooted, tried another burn, now it works perfectly. [8D]

These are the versions of each file that I am using:
mp3pro.dll: 2.0.0.11
mp3pp.dll: 1.0.0.4
mp3pro_dmo.dll: 2.0.0.6
mp3pro_hlp.dll: 2.0.0.6

I wrapped them up into a Zip file and posted them at this link - enjoy (1MB download) :

FWIW, my system is a mostly-stock Compaq d530C minitower, 2.8G P4, 1G RAM, Western Digital IDE hard drives, and an NEC ND-3520A burner. Video is a GeForce2 MX AGP card. Running XP Pro SP2 with all patches.

MP3Mogul -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (12/6/2006 6:48:06 PM)

Why not just upgrade to the latest version of Nero? (7.5.9.0a)

pcdoctor -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (12/11/2006 8:00:47 AM)

I had 7.5.9.0 saved on my hard drive but didn't install it yet.
No skipping with that version.

Here is a crazy question, since you are a MP3 man.
Has anyone burned CDGs (karaoke cds)?
Most people I've heard recommend TDK music CDRs instead of the regular data CDRs.
I'm going to a xmas party on Friday and I don't want to bring my originals to the party.
I want to make backups in case I step out of the room and someone takes out my CDG from the karaoke player.

Basically, I want to know if anyone has used data CDRs and burned karaoke CDs successfully.
When playing back a burned karaoke cd using regular cds have you seen garbage or specs when playing the burned karaoke cd?

MP3Mogul -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (12/11/2006 5:45:55 PM)

I burn them with either Maxell (TW Media Made In Japan) or with Verbatim, never had a problem with either one of those using CloneCD.

pcdoctor -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (12/12/2006 6:12:31 AM)

Thx MP3Mogul!

rbwinstanley -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (1/5/2007 2:22:42 PM)

Wow! Where has this thread been all my life? I've created more coasters than a pub could use in a year, tried different brands of CDR at different speeds. I was about to replace my GSA-4167B and then I found this thread.

I downloaded the zipped dll files posted by gsxr on page 6 and replaced the files on my hard drive (after creating a restore point). The next CD I burned with Nero was A1 perfect and it was the same CD that I had previously created 3 skipping versions of. My Nero is version 6.6.1.4 (I had been working on the premise "If it won't work don't try to fix it").

I'm happy now - thanks to everyone here and a special thanks to gsxr.

Cheers
Roger!

rockinruss -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (2/13/2007 11:31:50 PM)

In my opinion, the problem has nothing to do with the CD/DVD burner: Load a problem mp3 into a CD playlist (as if you were about to burn an audio CD) then double-click the file, and choose "indexes, limits, splits". If you now play the file from within Nero, you will see that the 'skipping' happens now, before even burning a CD.
This, to my mind, does prove that it is indeed the mp3pro.dll file (or whatever else nero uses to decode the mp3) causing the problem on your system, and nothing to do with the burner or CD media.
And using an older version of the mp3pro.dll worked well for me!

MX11 -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (5/6/2007 8:26:36 PM)

EVERYONE PLEASE LISTEN NERO6OR7 THERE'S NO NEED TO REPLACE YOUR MP3PRO FILES. THE PROBLEM IS THE CONVERTER IT CAN'T CONVERT MULTIPLE  FILES AT ONCE. I HAVE TEST IT WITH CDA TO CDA IT STILL SKIP ON ONE SONG. I WENT BACK WITH THE SAME CDA TO CDA AND ADD ONE TRACK AT A TIME. IT CAME OUT PERFECT SAME TRACK DID NOT SKIP PLAYED THE WHOLE CD IT WAS GOOD. EVER SINCE THEN NO MP3 TO CDA PROBLEMS.SO PLEASE PASS THE WORD ALONG. ONE MORE THING TO CONVERT SPC FILES TO WAVE USE WINAMP JUST GO TO OPTION DOWN TO PERFERNCE DOWN TO OUTPUT SELECT NULLSOFT DISK WRITER PLUG-IN CLICK CONFIGURE AND ENABLE CONVERTER PICK A SPC PLAY IT THEN PRESS STOP WHEN YOU FEEL YOU HAVE CONVERT ENOUGH. ONCE AGAIN PASS THE WORD ALONG. PEACE OUT!!!

MX11 -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (5/7/2007 4:23:42 PM)

IT'S NOT MP3PRO NOT DISC DRIVE NOT NERO 6 OR 7 IT'S NERO CONVERTER. IT CAN'T CONVERT MULTIPLE FILES AT ONCE.  JUST ADD ONE TRACK AT A TIME. THIS IS THE PROBLEM NO JOKE I DID CDA TO CDA ONE SONG STILL SKIP AND THAT BECUASE I SELECT ALL THE TRACKS AT ONCE. MY MIX CD'S DON'T SKIP. SO DON'T CHANGE THE MP3PRO DLL DON'T REPLACE DRIVE DON'T UPDATE.ALSO USE SPEED 32X NOT TO FAST OR TO SLOW. I ALSO TRYED MY OLD CD PLAYER NO SKIP WORK PERFECT. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME NERO IS PERFECT AND FOR DATA DISC NO NEED TO WORRY IT JUST DATA IT'S NOT CONVERTEN ANYTHING.SO YOU CAN STILL DO FILE PACK OF MOVIES MP3'S AT ONCE.I ALWAYS SUGGEST DATA CHECK IT'S THERE FOR A REASON.PLUS BURN DATA AT 8X TO DVD 32X TO CD JUST TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY AND IT'S ALMOST ERROR PROOF. PEACE OUT!!!

Mr.Blaze -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (8/2/2007 7:59:43 PM)

there is a problem with the MP3PRO.DLL file. I also had the skipping problem with nero 7. Burning regular audio CD would cause it to skip. I bought a new DVD-RW and burned another audio CD with brand new CDR media and still the tracks skipped. I read about the MP3PRO file and downloaded a different version of it off google. And guess what...no more skipping.

MP3Mogul -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (8/3/2007 5:43:51 PM)

LOL,

    Update to the latest version, this problem was fixed several releases ago.

Slippta Disco -> RE: audio cd skipping with Nero 7 (10/6/2007 4:21:03 AM)

Hi guys,
I just joined the forums because I too was looking for the Nero skipping problem fix.
Looks like someone above has found the link i found to fix it.
I just backed up the files and extracted these to the plugins folder letting them overwrite.
http://www.w124performance.com/mp3PRO_v6_Plugins.zip
Seems to have fixed it.
Cheers to all for the info and fix.
