Mushkin has also jumped the 4 GB DDR2 memory bandwagon and is offering these kits at tighter than usual latencies. This kit runs at 4-4-4-12 at 2.0 - 2.1V.

Mushkin has been around for a very long time and have certainly established their reputation as a high-end memory manufacturer. We take a look at their 4GB DDR-2 kit today- modeled as the Mushkin 4GB XP-6400. With the continuously increasing demand on resources, maybe it's a good time to upgrade the system's memory to 4GB.

Mushkin's current XP2-6400 DDR2-800 memory is not only highly overclockable, but also reasonably priced. The high performance of the DDR2 800 modules exceeds the expectations and the reason becomes clear with a look under the heatspreader. Because Mushkin uses the well-known Micron D9GMH memory chips on the tested modules and these memory chips are also used on high-end DDR2-1200 modules. Just the maximum allowed memory voltage for the Mushkin XP2-6400 RAM is a little bit lower with 1.9 Volt up to 2.1 Volt. But of course, it's well-known that overclocking isn't always within the specifications. The following review will show you all details about this 2GB kit and give you an extensive comparison to all memory modules tested so far.

The Mushkin XP2-6400 2GB DDR2 Kit arrived Technic3D. Technic3D will see as good they are with 4-4-3-10 and Overclocking against other Memory Kits on Windows Vista Ultimate. You can see 1080 MHz in the following Review with 2,1V.

Mushkin has been on the enthusiast scene for over a decade, and consistently produces memory at better timings and higher clockspeeds than the majority of competing memory manufacturers. Their devotion has never been widely heralded; they're predictable in a market that champions flash and innovation, even when that same stuff is, more often than not, ridiculous and temporary. Does Mushkin's consistency ensure another above-average kit?

Cobble together two different pairs of 2GB DDR2 memory sticks and chances are the motherboard will mistakenly report only 2.7GB, 3.3GB or 3.7GB of RAM installed... Worse yet, mixing and matching different 2GB memory sets may force you to use lax memory timings, or even to turn down the memory speed. Bummer. It's a good thing that Mushkin has produced this high performance 4GB memory kit... yes, that's FOUR GIGABYTES!

Mushkin is well known for the solid memory kits they make. Today we have the Mushkin XP2-6400 2 GB on our test bench. These modules are specced to run at DDR2-800 at CL4. With a price of $150 for 2 GB this kit is sure not the cheapest, but it comes with Micron D9 memory chips. In our testing we saw very nice voltage scaling up to DDR2-1136 at CL5.

With the XP2-6400 Mushkin has released their second generation of DDR2-800 memory. The memory comes with default timings of 4-4-3-10, which is a good deal better than most of the competition. The elegant black heatspreaders add to the looks of this memory. But this memory is not only about looks. The timings can be tightened down to 3-2-2-4. Relaxing them has an even better surprise for you - we reached DDR2-1104 at CL5...
