NZXT is a company that started out by producing unique computer cases designed for computer enthusiasts and gamers that were built well, were not based off designs from other manufacturers, and carried a distinct set of features. We have reviewed several NZXT cases at Phoronix, but with time they have expanded to produce other products. One of their first non-enclosure products was a NZXT power supply, which has now led to a complete series of NZXT power supplies, and a thermal controller that can be installed into a 5.25-inch drive bay. Their latest venture, however, has led them to producing a notebook cooler. The NZXT Cryo LX is a large notebook cooler made of aluminum, has an integrated four port USB 2.0 hub, and uses three 120mm fans for active cooling.

Next on the review agenda at XSReviews are notebook coolers. However not just one but two, ready to go head to head to see which is the better in terms of value, style and performance. The contenders are: the Vizo Ninja II and the NZXT Cryo LX. It?s time to find a victor so let?s get started.

We've seen many laptop/notebook coolers here at VH since we started getting into reviewing mobile items awhile back. Some decent, most not so decent. Well today I have for you a new entry into the notebook cooler segment from NZXT called the Cryo LX. The beauty is definitely unique. Not just because it'll support a 17" widescreen notebook with ease, or because it sports three 120mm fans, or even because it's made of aluminum. What makes this unit unique is the ability to fold it virtually in half! That's just a few of the nice features of this new Cryo LX. Let's check out some more...

Laptops are really becoming popular, especially when it comes to desktop replacements. Many laptops now are just as powerful as desktop computers if not more powerful. A lot of people now prefer laptops over desktop because they can easily take the laptop with them and they take up less space on their desk. One thing about laptops is they easily overheat, especially gaming laptops. That is where notebook coolers come in. Today we will be looking at the Cryo LX notebook cooler from NZXT, which looks like a pretty extreme notebook cooler.

It's almost as if the developers at NZXT went through all of my previous notebook cooler reviews to see what I thought of them, because the Cryo LX addresses many of the issues that I have had with other products. You may better know NZXT as a company that produces power supplies and desktop computer cases, but they're starting to expand into other realms as well. Based on my experience with the NZXT Cryo LX Notebook Cooler, this is a good move on their part.

With the introduction of their first ever notebook cooler, the Cryo LX, NZXT introduces a new product geared towards enthusiasts that own laptops. In an age where computing components require ever more elaborate cooling solutions, notebook computers are no different. Utilizing all-aluminum, 3mm thick construction, and three adjustable RPM 120mm fans, the Cryo LX is designed to keep your notebook ice cold. Can the Cryo LX deliver? Will NZXT's first foray into the notebook cooling arena be met with standing ovation or bitter defeat? Read on to find out!

While the NZXT Cryo LX's size and large carrying shape make it impractical for the road warrior with the ultralight notebook, it does do an excellent job of serving as cooler, stand, and additional USB port source for 15 inch and larger notebooks. If you?re looking to create a notebook station but want different benefits from a dock, the Cryo LX seems worth the asking price.

Laptops have always been widely appealing for their portability, but the prices usually have been a major hindrance for consumers. However, along with the latest technology coming in smaller sizes and lower prices, there follows a huge crowd of laptop-purchasers. And with the laptop-purchaser crowd growing everyday, the laptop accessories have become a lot more popular - leading companies to direct more attention towards them. One particular accessory, the laptop cooler, is actually quite popular amongst many laptop users. However, one particular cooler caught my eye -- an interesting design while featuring laptop dock-like features such as an USB hub, I decided to take a look at the NZXT Cryo LX, an active cooler with three fans.

This isn't something you'd expect to see under the notebook of some guy in a dress shirt and tie sitting next to you on a plane, or of someone in a business suit at Starbucks. More likely, you'd see this under an Alienware gaming laptop at a LAN party. I have no problem believing this is something from NZXT.

Anyone who owns a laptop knows how hot they can get. To help remedy that problem manufacturers are now coming out with some well made and thought out solutions. The NZXT Cryo LX Aluminum Notebook Cooler is touted as the first notebook cooler to feature triple 120mm adjustable fans and a full 3mm aluminum frame. But will it do the job? The NZXT Cryo LX Aluminum Notebook Cooler is one of many new coolers on the market, and Benchmark Reviews tests to see if it sets itself apart from the crowd.

This Cryo LX definitely takes inspiration from some of NZXT's cases, and incorporates quality materials and a well thought out design into a cooler capable of handling 17" (and even 19") notebook computers. Constructed mostly of thick Aluminum, and sporting three 120mm fans, this isn't just an oversized version of the typical notebook cooler.
