No, not el cheapo as in cheap and crappy necessarily but el cheapo as in cheap and very affordable. The just unveiled Nokia C5 will be available in the second quarter of 2010 (including the MEA market) at an expected retail price of just under AED 700.

Powered by a 369MHz ARM processor and 128MB of SDRAM, the E63 is a great addition to Nokia?s range and is perfect for anyone not wanting HSDPA or gadgets such as GPS, but preferring a focused e-mail device which can handle some entertainment if need be. Given the success of the E71, we see no reason why the E63 should be any different, potentially swaying users who don't fancy learning a BlackBerry operating system or the E71's higher price. While it doesn't have the all-round feature set and finesse of the E71 (it looks less serious), the E63 delivers an almost identical experience so is therefore excellent value for money.

Nokia's N96 is a throwback to a bygone era of smartphones - a few years ago, really - when pinstripe cases complemented buyers' handmade Italian suits, mobile e-mail was for sealing million-dollar contracts, and the phone's $895 unsubsidized price barely fazed would-be owners. Now that this particular segment of phone is as prized by mallrats as the execs who own the stores they shop at though, the N96 still holds its own, but only as a niche device. Though all the handset's vital stats have the right numbers in front of them, the lack of more powerful user inputs on the N96 and its powerful-but-confusing Symbian interface make taking full advantage of that hardware difficult.

The Nokia 6500 Classic is a brilliant phone for day to use. It hasn't got anywhere near as many features as the amazing Nokia N95 (such as GPS, FM tuner, front-facing camera and so on) and battery life is disappointing at just 3h 30m talktime, but it's a totally practical phone for heavy voice callers. Messaging and e-mail are obviously restricted due to the lack of a QWERTY keyboard, but those who sent lots of text messages should quickly work their way around the Nokia 6500 Classic's excellent keypad and menu system. Enthusiast photographers will balk at the rather limited 2-Megapixel digital camera, and business users may want 3G videocalling to prove to their boss that they're not out on the golf course, but the rest of us should be very well served by Nokia's best looking phone to date.
