Today we have a treat for you as I will be reviewing the Gainward 8800GTS 640mb Bliss Golden sample in SLi, this is one of the latest GeForce chipsets on the market, holding a massive 640mb of RAM on each card. Which adds up to a total of 1280mb of GFX memory which should be more than enough to play the latest games on the market, as well as some future titles. Add to that they are also the golden sample editions with a GPU clock speed of 550 and 1760 I am expecting great things.

Welcome to the world of Gainward, a world beyond your senses! Yeps, after all the exciting GeForce 7 series with several changes and refreshes throughout the past year, we also saw an inventive new product getting introduced by NVIDIA. In November this new chip and the cards based upon it gotten introduced and released by NVIDIA and its partners. And as of that moment all talks have been around DirectX 10, because the new GeForce 8 series are really for the next level in gaming. Gainward jumped on the wagon, releasing their BLISS 8800 GTS accelerator. During all our benchmarks the GTS kept on humming stable with no hickups to finally set the top speed at 650/2000MHz. Would you have thought so?

2006 was the year of Nvidia. Straight off the back of their 7950GX2 release - an awesome card in itself - came the jaw dropping performance of their latest incarnations, the 8800GTX and GTS. Today I have with me Gainward's rendition of the 8800GTX; lets see if this card is all its hyped up to be.

nVidia's GeForce 8800GTS just got a little bit better thanks to Gainward with their Golden Sample graphics card. We understand that overclocking isn't a hard task but that's us. Overclocking isn't for everybody and if it was companies like Gainward and BFG wouldn't have much joy selling pre-overclocked cards. It's nice to know that for a few extra dollars you can open the box, place it in your system, and be slightly faster than your mate down the road with a standard GeForce 8800GTS. The biggest problem that we have really has nothing to do with the card. The package really should have had a little something extra and video cables are really a pretty standard item these days, not choosing to include them was like XFX not choosing to include the PCI Express power adapter in their 8800GTS. While a lot of people might have them, there is still going to be a portion of people who don't. They should always be included.

Gainward marks its comeback to the Asian market with its first ever ATI product. And what could be more appropriate than to launch a Golden Sample of ATI's hottest property now, the Radeon X1950 PRO. Find out if Gainward manages to get the full potential out of this overclocked 512MB version.

You got that right; Gainward comes up with an exciting product. Gainward is a world leading producer of high-quality, high-end 3D accelerators for the personal computer market. Gainward offers a full product line of value adding products targeting gaming enthusiasts as well as entry-level consumers. NVIDIA's venerable G71 chip has been going strong for a while now. It's seen action as the GeForce 7900 GTX and coupled with a twin for some GX2 internal SLI loving, which was marketed as the fastest graphics card in town. More of this goodness comes in the form of the BLISS 7950 GT Golden Sample, raising the bar once again with awesome overclocking results of 675/1800MHz...

Welcome to the world of Gainward, a world beyond your senses! Gainward is a world leading producer of high-quality, high-end 3D accelerators for the personal computer market. Gainward offers a full product line of value adding products targeting gaming enthusiasts. NVIDIA released in February an AGP version based upon the GeForce 7800 chip. By releasing the GeForce 7800 GS AGP graphics card, NVIDIA made sure they can deliver top notch performance and an attractive upgrade path for all AGP system owners. Gainward took it one step further and designed an AGP card around the GeForce 7900 chip, the Gainward BLISS 7800 GS+ 512MB Silent.

The 7950 GX2 is a great new way of getting ultra-high end performance, without re-inventing the wheel. Some may feel that nVidia are "cheating" with the dual PCB's and dual GPU's, but hopefully this is a pre-cursor to proper dual core GPU's. Performance on the card is top-notch in both gaming and benching and it is getting very hard to notice the flaws in IQ that I have noticed on other top-end nVidia cards. However they are still there and Image Quality is still very much in ATI's corner.

The Gainward BLISS 7300 GT PCX Golden Sample is a really good example of an NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT card. It's cheap, simple and performs very well. Its Golden Sample label means it's a factory-overclocked card. In fact, you can run it at 550MHz core and 650MHz memory right out of the box. Therefore, it isn't surprising that the card wasn't particularly overclockable.

It's exciting to see Gainward bring out these super-fast enthusiast boards, but it really is a tough balancing act to get right. There is no denying that this is a seriously fast, impressive card. It's incredible that Gainward have managed to make a 7800 GT as fast as the high-end X1800 XT, yet due to its price I find myself wondering exactly why this card exists in the first place. The price of a card like this is immensely important and right now at £258 it's very difficult to see past the X1800 XT, of which is exactly the same price...

Gainward's BLISS 6800 GS GLH is no reference board. Sure, the core headroom is still up to the gods, but the memory headroom will destroy the competition. I managed to clock the memory to 1480 MHz at its peak. Just try and do that on any other 6800 GS with 2.0ns memory, it just won't happen...

The Golden Sample is clocked with a 450 MHz core which is 4 MHz faster than one of the overclocking sweet spots (18 x 27 - 40 = 446). Now, as our last 7800 GT review showed, the good thing about the 7800 series is that we see good performance boosts when they are overclocked. There were some instances of a 10 fps increase in some benchmarks with reasonable overclocks. What this suggests is that the Golden Sample at its stock clocks and under warranty will perform much better than the reference 7800 GT and just might be up the rear of the 7800 GTX...

Gainward have chosen very high clocks on there Golden Sample. With a 470 MHz core and 1300 MHz memory the card trounces the reference card to a degree usually expected by an ATI product refresh (X800 to X850 anyone?). It's also well priced. In the UK I've found it for £381.48. Put this in perspective with the BFG 7800GTX OC with 460 MHz core and same memory clocks for £411 and I don't need to tell you that's a big saving!
