"HP already builds awesome all-in-one PCs featuring integrated touchscreens and custom programs designed to take advantage of that user interface. Now, the company is bringing that same expertise to its printer business with the Photosmart Premium TouchSmart Web. As with HP's TouchSmart computers, the touch-screen on this multi-function printer goes far beyond simple menu navigation. The device comes preloaded with a dozen Web-based applications that enable you to print everything from digital photos to maps, weather forecasts, and movie tickets without ever touching a computer. Too bad this product's photo-printing prowess isn't on par with its excellent text-print quality, deep feature set, and exciting innovation."

"Docking stations for laptops have been around almost since the existence of laptops themselves. The problem is that not all laptops have a docking port built in. Usually only the business class notebooks, which are often more expensive than their consumer grade counterparts, have provisions for connecting to a dock. The product we have for review today is a universal laptop dock featuring DisplayLink technology. Although this device carries the HP brand name, its design allows it to work on just about any computer that has a USB 2.0 port. Freed from traditional docking station restraints of specific brands and/or models, the HP USB 2.0 Docking Station allows external connection of VGA, DVI, USB, SPK, MIC and NIC devices and shares these peripherals through one standard USB connection to the host computer."

Sleek, shiny and unlike many of its earlier Windows Mobile siblings, our first impression of the HP iPAQ Voice Messenger comes off as a device worth paying some attention to.

While the HP Mini 1000 was but an inheritor of the Mini-Note 2133's spirit, it's the newly updated Intel Atom-based HP Mini 2140 that's really the successor to the 2133. Sharing the same build and design like its brushed aluminum finish, check out our thoughts of this cool sub-notebook.

HP's dvd1040e is an external 20x Super Multi DVD burner. Thus, it lets you quickly record to single- or double-layer DVDs, and to DVD-RAM. It lets you preserve (and edit) up to 8.5GB of video, photos, and multimedia on one double-layer disc, plus store, backup, transport, and share documents on DVDs and CDs. And this high-speed drive supplies you with the latest version (1.2) of HP's cool LightScribe v1.2 disc labelling technology. The only downside is that it doesn't play Blu-ray movies. Plus, it fell of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

HP's df750a2 (around £65) is a relatively high resolution 7-inch digital picture frame that displays your digital photos (JPEG) and video clips (MPEG-1/4) without a computer. Furthermore, two built-in speakers let you listen to audio files (MP3 and WMA) and the supplied remote control allows you to conveniently access your content.

The specification of the HP DVD-1040e tells us that the drive supports DVD+/-R writing with up to 20x speed, but the truth shows us that 20x speed couldn't be reached. The Drive also shows questionable writing quality on some CD-R / CD-RW media.

The HP 2133 Mini-note Linux Edition is an incredibly good looking piece of kit, but is sadly a classic example of style over substance. Gorgeously designed and stunning to look at, the 2133 Mini-note seems to have it all at first glance. The keyboard is perfectly sized and the screen is bright and perky. It's so pleasurable to use that it could probably only be topped by an invitation to have a go on a jelly-covered bouncy castle with the half-naked celebrity of your choice.
