Control Menu
By turning on the player, we don't see any kind of welcome screen, but instead the DVR-720H-s waits for a command from the remote control. By pressing the "HOME MENU" button on the remote, we are presented with the main menu of the DVR-720H-s, from where we can accomplish many different tasks like configuring the unit, setting up the recording timer, use the Photoviewer to view photos stored on a CD/DVD, perform adjustments to the video and audio quality etc. For those that have already read our Pioneer DVR-320-s review, the whole menu layout will seem very familiar. Pioneer seems to follow a unified approach to designing the user interfaces for their DVD players/recorders, and they have our blessing for that. So there is no need to refamiliarize ourselves again and again with new menus and different ways of doing the same things.
Let's see the Initial Setup menu in detail.

We continue with the Tuner menu.
