Super Talent Technology, a manufacturer of Flash storage solutions and DRAM memory modules has added two new USB drives to its series of Pico flash drives. Today we take a look to the Pico-C and Pico-D models that are supposed to be the world's smaller 8GB drives.
Super Talent's patented PICO USB drives pack huge capacities into a tiny case. Half the size of an SD card, each PICO
drive is smaller than the plug at the end of a USB cable! But tiny does not have to mean fragile or slow. Encased in a sleek
and solid metal housing, no-compromise PICO drives are shock- and water-resistant to hold up under harsh conditions.
And Supertalent didn't forget to include zippy 200x transfer speeds.
The SuperTalent Pico drive include three variations: PICO-A, with a swivel lid; the retractable PICO-B; and ultra small PICO-C. The PICO-D is exactly like the PICO-A, with black color. Super Talent’s patented PICO series USB drives are manufactured using chip-on-board (COB) technology, which enables up to 8GB of Flash storage to fit into an incredibly minute case. PICO-C drives weigh less than a nickel (about 4.7 grams) and measure only 31.3mm x 12.4mm x 3.4mm.

The PICO series support read speeds upwards of 30MB/sec (200X) for fast access to files. Super Talent Marketing Director, Joe James explained, "These 8GB PICO drives have redefined mobile storage, combining new levels of speed, elegance and durability into the world’s smallest pen drive".
All Super Talent USB drives are backed with a lifetime warranty. All three 8GB PICO drives are available from Newegg.com today for under $25.

SuperTalent provided us the PICO-C and PICO-D models. Each of them costs under $25. Both products are well protected in a plastic shell:
The PICO-D model comes with black color and has handy swivel lid that retracts the USB end in order to be connected to a USB port.
The included key chain is essential since this very small USB flash drive can be easily lost. Its exact dimensions are 39.7mm x 13.5mm x 4.9mm.
The second drive, the Supertalent PICO-C, is probably one of the smaller USB flash drives you can buy. There are no leds to show activity, just plug-it in an empty USB port. The drive has a a cap holder hole that can be paired with the included key chain.
Let's run the HD Tach v220.127.116.11 now and see how the drives perform in the full length tests:
The full bench test scans the entire capacity of the module and displays a graph of average reading/writing performance.
As you can see both models performed exactly the same way. The performance of SuperTalent 8GB PICO-C/D drives is very good, with 31.3MB/sec reading and 13.2MB/sec writing. We can say that these babies can be easily compare with much bigger USB flash drives, at least in the reading tests. When writing, the drives are faster than the rest small-sized competitors.
SuperTalent PICo drives gave a blazing fast reading at 31.3MB/sec while writing was slower at 13.2MB/sec. But it is not these decent performance that make the difference here. The drives can be your favorite companion everywhere due to their stylish design and of course, their extremely small size.
Oh, we forgot to mention the retail price. You can get 8GB Pico drives for less than $25 over Newegg! A smart, affordable product that you deserve to have.
