Optorite DD0405 to hit the market next month

Optorite's new DVD recorder, the DD0405, will hit the market before end of February. The drive will offer 8x recording for DVD-R/+R and 4x for DVD+RW/-RW formats. Under the HD-Burn mode, CD-R discs will be burned at 24x. DD0405 is also a 40x/24x/40x CD-RW recorder.

Current owners of the previous DD0401 model will be able to upgrade their drive to 8/8x DVD-R/+R with a firmware upgrade, available in the Optorite drive end of February.

Basic fetures of the DD0405 include the BURN-Proof Buffer Under Run protection and a 2 MB internal buffer and the HD–BURN function that increases the the capacity of CD-R media (x2).
