Ahead introduces SIPPS, a voice-over IP software solution with 64-Bit encryption

Ahead has recently developed SIPPS, a unique software solution for online communication with a comprehensive user interface that makes all functions extremely user-friendly.

SIPPS is a fully Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-compliant voice-over IP software client. It combines very reliable sound quality with a vast variety of features including conference calls, call forwarding, call redirecting, call encryption and an enhanced built-in answering machine.

In addition, SIPPS is one of the only voice-over IP software client that protects the caller's privacy by enciphering the transmitted data with a 64-bit encryption during conversations between SIPPS clients.

Ahead Software offers free access to the public SIPPSTAR registrar server for SIPPS users.

A downloadable demo of SIPPS is available for free at www.sippstar.com. The demo allows unrestricted access to all features during the evaluation period. To keep the optional personal address at the registrar server, the user simply has to purchase and enter a serial number for SIPPS at any time during the evaluation period.

The SIPPS team is constantly developing new features, and by the end of 2003 SIPPS will have become a unique online communication center that covers all methods of real-time online communication. Other features will include the integration of all important Instant Messaging services into one interface and an advanced address book with contact groups. Individual customizable call-forwarding and call-redirection will also be implemented.

The Session Initiation Protocol

The SIP or Session Initiation Protocol is an internet draft by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Microsoft and Cisco Systems are in favor of and support the SIP. Ahead Software AG recognizes the advantages and potential of the Session Initiation Protocol, and offers SIPPS as a SIP-based communication solution to private and business users.
