Sanyo Electric Co said Friday it swung back into the black with a consolidated net profit of 2.67 billion yen in the three months to Dec 31, a sharp reversal from a net loss of 6.72 billion yen a year earlier. The major consumer electronics maker attributed the profitability in the October-December period to an increase in sales and efforts to streamline operations and cut costs.
