Pioneer expands mass storage offerings with the DRM-3000 FlexLibrary

Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., the leader in recordable DVD technology, today announced the DRM-3000 FlexLibrary(TM). This powerful new jukebox offers the same functionality as Pioneer's DRM-7000 FlexLibrary, but is an entry-level solution that meets the needs of companies seeking smaller, local storage. In addition, the system offers the ability to mix and match DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD/CD-ROM or CD-R technologies provides maximum flexibility and expansion for future needs.

"By leveraging our expertise in DVD data archiving solutions for large organizations, we are able to incorporate leading edge technology into a compelling entry level system for small to medium businesses and to departments within large organizations that need a smaller solution for local storage," said Paul Meyhoefer, director of sales and marketing for the mass storage group at Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. "The DRM-3000 is a scalable yet flexible solution that solves a variety of storage challenges and cost-related issues."

The DRM-3000 incorporates the same modular design as the world-renowned DRM-7000 allowing users future flexibility, while providing the most advanced drive technology for both changers. The DRM-3000 FlexLibrary is designed to work in conjunction with Pioneer's advanced DVD recording products including the DVD-R7322 DVD-R/RW drive, the DVD-D7563 DVD-ROM drive, and the DRM-AL751/AF751 color-coded magazines as well as the DRM-UF701, the industry's first modular disc flip unit.

The system's modular design allows organizations to configure the DRM-3000 based on their specific archiving needs. For instance, the system can be configured to accommodate a maximum of 320 discs with two drives and 1.5TB of storage; a maximum of 170 discs with eight drives and 799GB of storage; or it can be configured with any drive-to-disc ratio in between, allowing businesses to create the system of their choice.

The DRM-3000 is available now through Pioneer's authorized distribution network and offer configurations beginning at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $10,000.
