Kano Technologies a new DVD+RW/R storage-solution company is launched by industry veteran

Kano Technologies (www.kanotechnologies.com), a new California-based DVD+RW/R storage-solutions company, has been launched by industry veteran, Richard Young. The company will develop the next generation of optical-storage applications and solutions to take full advantage of the performance, capacity and compatibility offered by the DVD+ format.

"We are entering the market at an exciting, challenging time," said Young, Kano's president. "Kano's focus will be on developing, selling and supporting complete DVD solutions that users need and are asking for. In addition, we are offering excellent customer service and support. We believe we can offer the best solutions at very competitive prices."

Young has 18 years of experience in the optical storage field. In 1985, he delivered the first Hitachi-manufactured CD-ROM drive to Microsoft for the development of MS-DOS extensions. As president of JVC, he debuted the first JVC half-height 1x CD-R drive with authoring software at COMDEX, winning the "Most Innovative Technology" show award in 1991. Young is backed by major investors with extensive storage experience.

Kano's first product, a new DVD+RW/R drive for desktop and network backup/restore, features award-winning NTI software. This robust, complete solution is designed specifically for system builders, and takes full advantage of the DVD+RW format and its 4.7 GB storage capacity. It will be introduced at COMDEX next week.
