Upgrading for Hi-Speed - Freecom Drive-In USB 2.0

Freecom is launching a new external housing for installing internal drives in the market in the form of the Drive-In USB-2. Almost all the traditional internal CD-ROM drives, DVD-ROM drives, CD-burners and combo-drives can be integrated in the external drive housing, which also has an in-built USB-2 cable. Installation is fast, uncomplicated and does not require any tools. After installation, the drive is connected to the computer and you're on your way.

Thanks to USB-2, the drive is plug-and-play-capable, so that you can connect it or disconnect it at any time while your computer is running. The possibilities for using the Drive-In are tremendous. Whether there is no more place in the desktop, or an existing internal drive needs to become portable for on-the-road use, with the Freecom Drive-In USB-2, you can easily and cost-effectively upgrade your PCs and notebooks.

The maximum speed of the installed drive is achieved 100% by connecting it to the USB-2 port. For example, if you insert a DVD drive into the Freecom Drive-In USB-2, the high transfer speeds of USB-2 ensure that even videos can be reproduced. "With Drive-In USB-2, Freecom offers the user an extremely cost-effective option for an external hi-speed drive", says Fred Grondijs, Product Manager of Freecom Technologies. "The existing internal CD-burner, the DVD or Combo-drive are simply inserted in the Drive-In - connect it and you're ready."

The Freecom Drive-In USB-2 will be available immediately in stores at a price of 89,- €. The supplied kit includes the drive housing with a USB-2 connecting cable, the AC adapter, the necessary drivers and the manual.
