World's first: YAMAHA CRW-F1 IDE CD-RW review!

After testing over 10 days the new YAMAHA CRW-F1E (IDE) CD-RW, we present the world's first review. We tried to cover most of the features in depth, and as you will find out, the review is longer than what you read so far...

A snip from introduction "...When YAMAHA announced the new CRWF1 recorder everybody was impressed and really curious whether the drive would be faster and more reliable from the compatible P-CAV 48X recorders. The questions that come up are also focused upon not only the recording times maintained but upon the produced writing quality, the supported media list and the price, as well. We cannot hide our anxiety to test this drive and to compare it with the current leaders in this recording race from Asus, CyberDrive, LiteOn and others..."

PS. In addition, we introduce a new series of tests with the name "Error Correction Tests". We test the error correction of each drive, with the use of special test discs from Almedio and PHILIPS. The test discs include defects that stretch the drive's mechanism. Check the forth (4) page for more details ;-)
