Philips develops thermal balanced writing for CD-RW

The translation done with Babelfish so there might be problem understanding the meaning :(

"...Philips presents a new write technology, which will be used in the future into all CD-RW burners. The thermal Balanced Writing technology (TBW) improves the data integrity by the dynamic controlling of laser writing current with all CDRW blanks.

Lucien Bertotti, Product marketing manager, Philips MultiMedi Solutions Europe declares as new technology: "The physical limitations, which indicate cheap CD or CD-RW, lead when conventional burning with eightfold [...] rate to a rise of the error rate. Carelessly specified Pits, thus the information on the Disc, can make a CD-R or a CD-RW unserviceable."

Philips sets developed TBW technology for the solution of this problem on the new. In the itself-learning mode this new write strategy in real time from already on that the Pits the optimum employments for the dynamic control of the laser unity and the maximum possible burning speed, insisting, obtains CD.

This function runs completely in the background, without the user must intervene. The user can use the max. burning speed with each medium, without having to be received compromises with the reliability. Thermal Balanced Writing establishes so the prerequisite for burning with rates of 8x and multi.

All Philips PCRW 804K 8x CD-RW of drives, which are manufactured on by December 2000, are with this technology equipped. And naturally also new 12x Philips CD-RW drive wiill include it..."
