SCEJ Press Conference 2015

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) held a press conference today in Tokyo where the company announced new games and a price cut for the PS4, new Dualshock 4 controllers and also said that Playstation VR is the new official name for the PS4 virtual reality system.

"The name 'PlayStation VR' not only directly expresses an entirely new experience from PlayStation that allows players to feel as if they are physically inside the virtual world of a game, but it also reflects our hopes that we want our users to feel a sense of familiarity as they enjoy this amazing experience," said Masayasu Ito, EVP, Division president of PS Product Business and VP, Software Design Division.

"We will continue to refine the hardware from various aspects, while working alongside 3rd party developers and publishers and SCE Worldwide Studios, in order to bring content that deliver exciting experiences only made possible with VR."

Previously, Playstation VR was known as 'Project Morpheus VR system'.

Sony also announced that the PS4 is getting a price cut to 35,000 yen ( $300) in Japan, starting October 1st. So you might expect a similar announcement for a price cut in Europe and the U.S., possibly during the upcoming Paris Games Week.

Sony also announced a peripheral device for the PS4 and PS3, PS Vita - the Virtual 7.1ch wireless surround headset (CUHJ-15001). Available in japan on December 3 for about 12,000 yen, theheadset converts the audio of the PS4 and PS3 into a virtual surround 7.1ch.

Sony said new Dualshock 4 Wireless Controller colour variations, including Gold, Steel Black, transparent Crystal and Silver editions, are coming soon.

In addition, new hard drive panels let you add a touch of colour to your console with a variety of yellow, gold, pink, yellow, light blue, red and purple plates. Sony introduced us to the idea of swappable faces when it debuted its Project Skylight beta back in December 2014, but its latest accessories focus on solid colors more than game tie-ins.

Both the controllers and the hard drive panels will launch in Japan ahead of the holiday season on November 6th. Sony says the plates will cost 2,500 yen each ($21), and the new DualShock 4 pads will retail for 6,480 yen ($54). The company has confirmed that the gold and silver controllers will make their way west first.

In the game field, Gravity Rush 2 and Gravity Rush Remastered announced for PS4.

Firstly, Gravity Rush 2 is currently in development exclusively for PlayStation 4. It will be available worldwide on February 9th, 2016. Check out the first trailer above, and expect more information in the coming months.

In advance of the sequel, Gravity Rush Remastered, a retelling of Kat?s high flying (and falling) PS Vita adventures launches on 10th February 2016, again exclusively for PlayStation 4.

Brought to life on the big screen by the team at BluePoint Games, you'll be able to join heroine Kat and her sidekick Dusty as they soar through the city of Hekseville like never before. On the graphics side, this release takes advantage of the PS4 hardware to deliver HD visuals.

All three original DLC packs released alongside Gravity Rush's initial release - the Spy Pack, The Maid Pack and The Military Pack - will also be included within the game.

Gravity Rush Remastered is the opportunity to experience the magical story of Kat as she seeks answers to her mysterious gravity-defying powers and forgotten past, now in full HD glory on your flatscreen TV.

Bloodborne expansion 'The Old Hunters' will also launch on 24th November for €14.99.

In addition, Three "Kingdom Hearts" games will be releases for the PlayStation 4 as part of the same collection, including a remastered edition of 2012 Nintendo 3DS game "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance."

The series has become well known and well loved for its overlapping of Disney and "Final Fantasy" characters.

Announced at the Tokyo Game Show, "Kingdom Hearts II.8: Final Chapter Prologue" will contain "Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance HD" and "Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage," which tells part of the story of 2010 PSP game "Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep" from the perspective of a different character.

Also included will be "Kingdom Hearts χ [chi] Back Cover" a movie composed of scenes from Android and iOS title "Kingdom Hearts: Unchained χ [chi]."

The game is set for release on PS4 in 2016.
