Xiaomi Announces The Mi 4 Flagship smartphone

China's Xiaomi unveiled on Tuesday its new flagship Mi 4 smartphone, aimed squarely at the premium handset market.

The Mi4 has have a stainless-steel frame and is featuring a 5-inch full-HD screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz processor, 3GB of RAM, a 3,080 mAh battery, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 16GB of 64GB of internal memory. The main 13 MP camera has an large aperture of f/1.8, it offers real-time HDR, and can record video in 4K. The secondary camera has the same aperture, but has only an 8 MP sensor.

The device will also run Xiaomi’s custom MIUI operating system – a version of Android that allows for more customization and that removes the Android app drawer in favour of putting all the programs on the home screen.

Xiaomi has also posted information on its web site about a $13 fitness band.

The company's first smart wearable tracks your movement plus sleeping pattern, and you can also use it as a smart vibrating alarm. According to Xiaomi, a single charge on the waterproof device will last up to 30 days. In addition, it automatically unlocks your phone when within proximity. There's no word on availability just yet.
