Toshiba Announces Its Newest 6X DVD-ROM Drive

"..Toshiba has developed a new digital signal processor and pickup head in the SD-M1212. The SD-M1212 has a 6X speed playback for DVD-ROM (8,112 KB/SEC.) and a maximum of 32X speed playback for CD-ROM (4,800KB/sec.) Using Ultra DMA, the drive can achieve burst transfer rates of 33.3MB/sec. The pricing on this drive should be around $150.."
