Dropbox Introduces Carousel And Mailbox app For Android

Dropbox is not only about cloud storage. The company today introduced the Carousel photo app along with a new mailbox app for Android.

Mailbox was an email productivity app that was made available to iOS users last year. The app lets users organize emails with simple swipe motions, chasing the notion of having no unread messages, or "inbox zero."

The company is bringing the app to Android and is also introducing a new feature called auto-swipe - a way Mailbox learns from your swipes to get you closer to Inbox Zero. Essentially, this means the app will automatically snooze or filter messages based on your previous actions.

Dropbox also today announced Carousel, a home for your photos and videos. It's actually a gallery that lets you share and relive your content in private conversations with friends and family.

No photos are stored on your devices, meaning the company hopes that not only will current Dropbox users see Carousel as a more viable solution to automatic syncing of mobile photos. Dropbox currently gives users 2GB of storage for free, but charges $9.99 per month for every 100GB of storage purchased.

Carousel is ready for you to try out today on iOS and Android.

And if you're using Dropbox at work, you can now connect your personal Dropbox to your Dropbox for Business on all your devices.
