Silicon Power Computer & Communication Inc. has announced a third generation USB 2.0 flash drive that's compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.1 (and higher).

The drive has a read speed of up to 8.6MB per second and a write speed of up to 7.5MB per second. It's available in 128MB, 246MB, 512MB and 1GB capacities. However, the company hasn't released pricing information.

The USB 2.0 flash drive weighs 15 grams. It provides security, bootability and compression functions and has a LED to indicate operating status, according to Silicon Power.
