ZTE Launches New Handsets at MWC 2014

ZTE will unveil a range of high-performance smartphones and products at Mobile World Congress 2014, including the ultra slim Grand Memo II LTE with 6 inch screen, one of the first Firefox OS 1.3 devices, the ZTE Open C as well as its brand new user interface MiFavor 2.3.

"This year, we are looking to work even more closely with our customers worldwide to develop the products they want and deliver a superior customer experience.," commented Adam Zeng, CEO of ZTE Mobile Devices and Executive Vice President of ZTE Corporation. "They have told us that they want ever more innovative and high-performance products, so at MWC 2014 we are delivering this with the launch of two new high-profile devices, the ultra slim Grand Memo II LTE with 6 inch screen and the ZTE Open C in partnership with Mozilla and Telefonica. We expect 2014 to be our strongest year yet - and we're putting our customers at the heart of everything we do to help us achieve that."

In addition, ZTE will also be showcasing its range of mobile devices throughout the show including the Grand S II flagship smartphone, the ZTE Blade series, and the Nubia series including the new Nubia 5S and Nubia 5S mini. ZTE makes more than just smartphones and will also exhibit the ZTE Projector Hotspot (a mini projector and Wi-Fi hotspot in one) and the ZTE Grand Watch Smart Watch at Mobile World Congress. Alongside the new products, ZTE will also launch its new UI MiFavor 2.3 which promises to provide "a superior experience for ZTE mobile users," according to ZTE.

Around 390,000 Firefox OS phones shipped last year, according to IDC, a figure it expects to rise to 2.5 million this year. That's still better than competing new OSes such as Tizen and Ubuntu, which aren't even running on phones yet.

According to Mozilla, Firefox OS devices have commanded market share in Latin America and gone on sale in 14 markets including nine in Europe, with four operators and three handset manufacturers.

Besides ZTE, Firefox OS hardware will be on display at MWC 2014 by TCL, and LG.
