Intel Invests in Wearable Technology Company Basis

Intel Capital has invested in Basis Science, the maker of an health tracker designed to improve fitness and sleep.

The Basis band contains sensors that continuously capture heart rate patterns, motion, perspiration and skin temperature throughout the day and night, providing deeper insights into health and personal behavior.

The investment in Basis follows Intel Capital's recent investment in wearable computing company Recon Instruments.
