ZTE's Grand S And Nubia 5 Smartphones Debut in the U.S.

ZTE is bringing its 5-inch Grand S in the U.S. Compatible for use with GSM/UMTS carriers, the phone is available for preorder on Saturday, October 5 with an MSRP of $399.99, through Amazon and other channels.

The phone has a five-inch full HD display at 440 ppi with scratch-resistant glass, a 13 megapixel Auto Focus rear camera with Flash, a 2 megapixels front facing camera, a quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 16GB in ROM and 2 GB in RAM. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and it is powered by a 1780 mAH battey.

The Grand S is possibly the slimmest smartphone in the U.S. at just 5.59" x 2.72" x 0.27".



ZTE will also make available on Saturday the ZTE Nubia 5, which will cost $449.99. It also comes with a 13 megapixel camera, which is further enhanced by a scratch-resistant Konica-Minolta sapphire lens and a Sony CMOS sensor. Photography settings include a high-speed burst mode, control over focus and lighting options, and a four-direction panoramic shooting mode. A second 2 megapixel lens is also equipped on the phone as a front-facing camera.

The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 1.5GHz quad-core CPUs, has 16GB of ROM and 2GB of RAM, and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.



Aside from the size differences and camera lens features, the two new ZTE phones also feature different battery capacities, with the Nubia 5 to have a larger 2300mAh battery.
