AMD Kaveri Release Pushed Back For Early 2014

AMD's Kaveri-based APUs are expected to show up in the market in February 2014 as mass production will not be ready until the end of 2013, according to a report from Taiwan.

AMD originally expected to start supplying its Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) Kaveri APUs in the second half of 2013, but according to the company's latest plans, the CPU maker will only provide two A10 and one A8 APU pilot production samples to its clients in December 2013.

AMD declined to comment.

According to AMD's curent roadmap, the first half of 2014 will see the release of the Berlin (servers) and Beema APUs. In 2015, AMD will release Carizo and Nolan APU series to replace Kaveri and Beema, respectively, both featuring HSA.

HSA Foundation was founded by AMD in 2012 and its members include ARM, Imagination Technologies, MediaTek, Texas Instruments, Samsung Electronics and Qualcomm.
