Google Chrome 25 Beta Supports Voice Commands

Google's new Chrome 25 beta web browser supports the Web Speech API for developers, opening new possibilities for voice-controlled applications in the near future.

With this new JavaScript API, developers can integrate speech recognition into their web apps. So, in the near future you?ll be able to talk apps into doing all sorts of things.

The latest Chrome Beta will also automatically disable some extensions on Windows that may have been added by third party programs without proper acknowledgement from users. A notification will appear with the option to re-enable the affected extensions.

The browser also includes improved features to protect against cross-site scripting attacks. Developers will be able to use the "unprefixed" Content Security Policy HTTP header to define a whitelist of "trusted sources", preventing the browser from rendering content from sources outside that list.

Download Chrome Beta to give these latest enhancements a test drive.
