Dual-core Samsung Galaxy S III Coming In The U.S. This Month

Five major service providers in the U.S. will start offering the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone this month.

Galaxy S III, optimized for 4G LTE and HSPA+ 42 networks, will be launching with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular starting in June.

Confirming previous reports, the U.S.version of the smartphone will be baseon on a more power efficient Snapdragon S4 1.5 GHz dual core CPU compared to the company's latest Exynos quad-core chip, which was found in the non-4G S3's shipped in countries around the world.

The smarphone includes Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with TouchWiz enhancements, 2GB of internal RAM, a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display protected by Gorilla Glass 2.0, a removable 2100 mAh battery, and standard 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage.

Verizon Wireless and Sprint have already listed the prices for the 16GB and 32Gb versions of the smartphone, available for $199.99 and $249.99, respectively.
