Apple may quit Google Maps and add an in-house mapping
system on the upcoming iOS 6 operating system,
according to rumors.
The 9to5mac.com blog reported that Apple may develop a
new mapping application by taking advantage of its
acquisition of Placebase, C3 Technologies and Poly9.
Apple's own mapping application will appear on iOS 6,
unnamed "sources" told the blog.
iOS 6 is expected to be announced in June at the Apple
World Wide Developers Conference.
Apple has not commented on the report.
