Reuters reported today that Apple began talks earlier this year to stream films owned by EPIX on devices including a TV.

EPIX has been created by Lions Gate Entertainment Corp, MGM and Viacom's Paramount Pictures.

Reuters' sources are "two people with knowledge of the negotiations".

Apple is already selling a set-top box that hooks up to a television set and lets users stream online content from Netflix and the MLB channel.

Apple is expected to unveil a TV product later this year or in early 2013.

Apple has not commented on the report.
